Robert Burns

Robert Burns (also known as Rabbie Burns) is Scotland's national poet. Almost everyone sings one of his poems at least once a year. "Old Lang Syne" by Robert Burns or a variation of Robert Burns song is sung at almost every New Years Eve party around the world. However he was a very prolific poet in the Scots tongue and is known to the masses for his success in popularising this type of poetry. The equivalent of a current day pop star he led a fairly chequered lifestyle and had affairs with a large number of women. As a writer of poetry he was also a prolific writer of love letters to his chain of lady friends and mistresses. We publish a number of Robert Burns romantic love letters on these pages.
