Caradoc Evans to Oliver Sandys

Have you ever had to write a love letter that says sorry? Most of us have at some time had to apologise for being late for a date or even missing it altogether. This is an example of one person who had to do just that.

In this case being late was just the start of the date and things got worse but read this apologetic love letter and find out how. Hope you never have a bad date like this turned out!

Richmond, 9 June 1930

My darling,

I  am sorry I was late to–day, I had no business to be late.

You know I like to be on time.

I met Nat Gubbins in a pub and we got talking.

I had three sherries only. You ticked me off and I said unkind things to you.

I  provoked you and went on provoking and could not stop myself.

You looked so beautiful.  It pleased me to make you cry.  I went from you.

I have had three more sherries.  I vowed  I would never see you again, but  I cannot keep my vow.

Albeit  I come back to my love for you.

Caradoc
